Lantern Festival 2023

End the Lunar New Year with a bang this Monday! The Lantern Festival is the final day of Lunar New Year where people everywhere say one final goodbye to the old year when the moon is full. This year, the Lantern Festival lands on February 5th, so we extended the celebrations one extra day so everyone can enjoy the festivities at the library!

Play games, make amazing lanterns and crafts to take home, solve riddles, learn more about the many different cultures all around Asia, and enjoy an amazing performance by the Iowa City Area Chinese Association (ICACA) in partnership with the Iowa City Public Library!

The ICACA has graciously volunteered their time and amazing talent for us here at the Moline Library! Don’t miss their special performance at 6:00 to end the festival!

Happy New Year from your friends at the Moline Public Library!
