Earth Day Terrariums For Kids Recap

This month we celebrated Earth Day by making a miniature ecosystem in a mason jar – aka, terrariums! A terrarium is a sealed transparent globe or similar container in which plants are grown. Just like an aquarium is for fish, a terrarium is for plants.

While making these terrariums, we learned how an ecosystem works and how we can celebrate Earth Day every day of the year by doing small things like planting native plants, picking up litter, and recycling.

Check out some of these awesome terrariums!

We had so much fun with this program, and we hope to educate more kids on protecting our planet – not just on Earth Day, but every day of the year!
