Happy Camping

This week my family is preparing for one of our favorite summer activities  – camping!

We love being outdoors and unplugged.  Nothing is better than relaxing by a campfire under a starry night sky with friends and family.

We are really fortunate to have some great campgrounds in our area like Loud Thunder, West Lake, Scott County Park, and Wild Cat Den.

If traveling to camp isn’t possible, bring the campground to you!  Backyard camping can be a great way to make memories while staying (very) close to home.

The National Park Service has a fantastic website with lots of camping resources, including info on camping with kiddos and backyard camping, at https://www.nps.gov/subjects/camping/why-camp.htm

Also be sure to visit the tent in children’s department so you can camp out here at the library!
