March is the perfect time of year for a storytime about rain and rainbows!

OPENING SONG: IF YOU’RE READY FOR A STORY

BOOK: SPLISH SPLASH DUCKY
SONG: RAIN ON THE GRASS
Rain on the grass (shake scarf on floor)
Rain on the trees (shake scarf in air)
Rain on the rooftops (shake scarf over head)
But not on me! (drop scarf on head)
We repeated this song with sun and snow on the leaves as well, though hopefully we’ve seen the last of the snow!
SONG: JACK IN THE BOX
Jack in the box (bunch up scarf)
Sits so still
Will he come out?
Yes he will! (throw scarf in air)

BOOK: WOW SAID THE OWL
SONG (WITH FELT BOARD): DRIVING ROUND IN MY LITTLE RED CAR
Driving round in my little red car
Driving round in my little red car
Driving round in my little red car
Zoom zoom zoom zoom zoom!
We sang this song changing the color of the car each time to add another color to our rainbow!

BOOK: MAISY’S RAINBOW DREAM
SONG: RAIN IS FALLING DOWN
Rain is falling down (wiggle fingers like rain), SPLASH (clap)
Rain is falling down (wiggle fingers like rain), SPLASH (clap)
Pitter patter pitter patter (pat legs)
Rain is falling down (wiggle fingers like rain), SPLASH (clap)
The sun is peeking out, peek a boo!
The sun is peeking out, peek a boo!
Peeking here and peeking there
The sun is peeking out, peek a boo!
And that’s what we did in storytime! Be sure to check back next Thursday to see what we do.
