Movers & Shakers: Fall!

Had to miss storytime this week? No problem! Loved the book we read last week but can’t remember the title? You can find it here! Looking for ideas for your own storytimes? We’ve got you covered! Every Thursday you can find our setlist for storytime here on the blog.

This was my first week doing our Movers and Shakers story time!! What a blast – and Jessica was so helpful in making sure my week would be rockin’ and rollin’! Speaking of which, this Movers and Shakers fell right on the first day of Autumn, so we went with a Fall theme!

OPENING SONGS: Everybody Take a Seat & If You’re Ready for a Story

BOOK: Kitten’s First Full Moon

BOOK: A Fall Ball for All

Song with Scarves: If My Legs Were Made of Spaghetti

If my legs were made of spaghetti
I’ll tell you what I would do!
I’d wriggle and jiggle them
wiggle and giggle
and hope that my arms would not, too!

If my arms were made of spaghetti
I’ll tell you what I would do!
I’d wriggle and jiggle them
wiggle and giggle
and hope that my fingers won’t, too!

If my fingers were made of spaghetti
I’ll tell you what I would do!
I’d wriggle and jiggle them
wiggle and giggle

and hope that my neck would not, too!

If my neck were made of spaghetti
I’ll tell you what I would do!
I’d wriggle and jiggle it
wiggle and giggle
and hope that my body won’t, too!

If my body were made of spaghetti
I’ll tell you what I would do!
I’d wriggle and jiggle and
wiggle and giggle
and hope that my friends will not, too!

This was such a fun song that we did it twice!

WHAT I DIDN’T USE: Bella’s Fall Coat by Lynn Plourde

After this we went right into our craft, as our felt board was being used on the floor this week for our amazing 150th Anniversary, which will

This week for our craft we made handprint leaves using washable paint! All you have to do is paint a fall color on your hand (like red, orange, yellow or even brown), and stick it on some paper, then let it dry. If you want, you can even draw a stem on your leaves! We had some really big creatives in story time today who painted a whole autumn scene before making their handprints! How cool!

And that’s what we did in storytime! Don’t forget to check back in next Thursday to see what Jessica did.
